Philoctetes is a new production based on Sophocles’ Philoctetes, translated by Peter Meineck, and adapted and directed by Desiree Sanchez.  The performances are a part of the Warrior Chorus, which is a national initiative that trains veterans to present innovative public programs based on ancient literature. Featuring a cast of veterans, Sophocles' ancient play captures a reality for all combat veterans who have been physically wounded and explores ethical dilemmas, as dynamic and relevant today as they were to the Greeks 2,500 years ago. The production was work shopped at BAM Fisher and performed in Athens in 2005 as part of the TCG Global Initiatives Program.
